Doug & Ron Nordberg
-
Doug and Ron Nordberg are renowned for their exceptional antler furniture, blending custom craftmanship with functional art inspired and deeply rooted by the rugged beauty of the American West. Their work draws from the ornate traditions of the 1860–1890 Black Forest Austrian furniture movement, as well as contemporary and traditional antler furniture styles.
Doug began his journey as a full-time furniture designer in 1993, collaborating with designers and art galleries to furnish high-end homes in Aspen and Vail. His dedication to innovation and quality has earned him prestigious accolades, including the Switch Back Ranch Award (2007), the Exhibitors Choice Award at Cody High Style (2012), and Best Mixed Media at the Western Design Conference (2024).
Ron’s passion for the antler industry started at age 11, spending summers in Wyoming collecting antlers, a tradition that continues to inspire their work. After gaining experience in Alaska and working in the computer and aerospace industries, Ron joined Doug, bringing technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail to every piece they create.
With a combined 35 years of experience, the Nordberg brothers infuse their furniture with intricate carvings and natural motifs of the Black Forest movement, blending old-world artistry with modern design. Their use of organic materials and sculptural forms results in timeless, unique pieces built to last for generations.
When not crafting furniture, Doug and Ron can be found on stage as members of their grunge band, Rhino Skin, Doug on bass and Ron on lead guitar.
Together, the Nordberg brothers bring artistry, heritage, and a spirit of adventure to every creation, making each piece a true work of functional art.
