Jerry Maracci
-
Jerry grew up in a family of educators and, along with his six siblings, pursued higher education to complete his undergraduate and graduate studies. He began his career as a mathematics teacher before transitioning into a long-term role as an insurance agent, proudly serving the rural southern Illinois community of his youth.
In 2008, Jerry retired to fully dedicate himself to the art and craft of knifemaking, a passionate hobby he had cultivated since 1977. Armed with the freedom of retirement, he committed to a rigorous study of his craft. While his early work was highly regarded by the local community, Jerry soon began elevating the functional design of his knives with exceptional artistic refinements. Today, he blends practical utility with stunning aesthetics, utilizing premium Damascus steel - crafted in collaboration with a trusted bladesmith - and unique, natural handle materials. Many of these resources are obtained in and near Cody, Wyoming, where Jerry and his wife, Susie, now spend much of their time.
